Chiefs owner Clark Hunt credits Taylor Swift, Swifties for 30% fanbase boost: Report

Taylor Swift's attendance at the Kansas City Chiefs game last season became the talk of the NFL as she showed her support for her boyfriend,, Travis Kelce. The Chiefs went on to win their second consecutive Super Bowl title, their third in five seasons. The organization also reported a 30% increase in their fan base.

Many may assume it's Kansas City's success over the last few seasons that has seen an increase in support from fans, but Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt has one more reason.

“The impact Taylor Swift has had on our fan base is undeniable. We’ve seen a 30% increase in our fan base, and it’s clear that her presence and influence are a big part of that. Her fans are incredibly loyal, and they’ve brought that energy to supporting the Chiefs,” Hunt said.

Last season, the Kansas City Chiefs saw an increase in their social media following and merchandise sales after Taylor Swift's first attendance at a game in September 2023.

Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes credits Taylor Swift for Travis Kelce's new look

Did Taylor Swift influence Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce's newest hairstyle? That is what quarterback Patrick Mahomes thinks upon seeing his tight end sporting a new hairstyle.

In an interview with Sirius XM, Mahomes said that he has been trying to get Kelce to grow his hair out for a few years instead of the buzz cut he usually favors.

"I've been trying to get him to grow his hair out, and all of a sudden Taylor gets him to do it," Mahomes said on SiriusXM

The Chiefs' tight end has been seen at training camp with slightly longer hair and his summer mustache that he typically sports this time of year.

As for the fanbase, it is expected to only increase this fall, as Chiefs aim for a three-peat.
