Chiefs owner Clark Hunt’s daughter reveals struggling with body image issues during pageantry
Chiefs owner Clark Hunt’s daughter Gracie is the winner of Miss Texas Teen International 2016 and 2018. She also holds the crown of Miss Kansas USA. Being a beauty pageant contestant, Hunt is aware of the struggles with body image.
Hunt detailed her issues on Thursday on Instragam. She described her experience while elaborating on her constant focus on changing throughout the competitions.
"When I competed in pageants, I found it hard to not fall prey to the comparison trap — especially when it came to body image. I feel like oftentimes we all want to be or look like the thing we are not, not being grateful for what we are," Hunt wrote.
"Even focusing on a healthy & athletic approach to the swimsuit/fitness competition, it was challenging to not wish I could change parts of myself. As a woman, I believe it’s something all women struggle with to an extent at some point in our lives."
Hunt wrote that she wants to tell her younger self just to love her and the way she was instead of focusing on changing it. Hunt noted how when she watches her old pictures and videos, she feels bad for being hard on herself.
"There’s only one thing that I’ve found is safe to store my identity and that thing is my faith in Jesus Christ," Hunt wrote. "Now the goal is simple: striving each day to become the strongest & most vibrant version of myself that God created me to be."
Gracie Hunt shares her views on Harrison Butker's "Homemaker" comment
Harrison Butker sparked controversy with his controversial commencement speech at Benedictine College earlier this month. Gracie Hunt, during an interview with "Fox & Friends," shared her views on Butker's "homemaker" comment:
"Well, I can only speak from my own experience, which is, I’ve had the most incredible mom who had the ability to stay home and be with us as kids growing up and I understand that there are many women out there who can’t make that decision."
Hours before Gracie Hunt shared her take, her mother, Tavia Hunt, shared her opinion on the same issue on Instagram. Tavia detailed what she feels about being a homemaker.
