Chiefs owner Clark Hunt's wife Tavia sounds alarm about USA's rising inflation problem

Tavia Hunt, wife of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, touched on a very hot topic this week. Despite economic growth in the U.S.A. in the last couple of years, inflation has been a concern. Many critics feel that rising inflation poses a danger to the country's economic growth, and Hunt is among them.

On Saturday, she reshared an Instagram reel featuring interviews of individuals sharing their take on rising inflation. Sharing her reaction, Hunt expressed how America could suffer the same fate as ancient Rome:

"INFLATION ruined Rome & we're not far behind," Tavia said.

While hyperinflation was a problem the Romans did not entirely understand, it was a key component of the third-century crisis and the eventual fall of the Western empire (whichever point you take that to be). However, with the third century also struggling with the effects of the Severans' critical overpay of the legions and coin debasement, inflation was not the only economic problem.

Factor in frequent emperor assassinations, civil wars, Gothic migrations/invasions, mass conflict with the Sassanids and the empire splitting into three parts, and the Roman empire was lucky to survive for another two centuries.

Going back to Tavia Hunt, whether it's the rising inflation in the country or criticism towards the Kansas City Chiefs, she is active on social media with her opinions. Following the Chiefs' 22-17 win over the Falcons last week, Hunt slammed fans for "whining" about the officiating. She reshared an Instagram post elaborating on how every team faces such situations.

"I don't want to hear any whining about the officiating with the Bryan Cook missed PI. Yes, they got it wrong, just like how they incorrectly penalized Trent McDuffie with PI for the second week in a row.
"Every team (all 32 of them) deal with bad/missed calls and I've said this many times. The Chiefs defense was flagged 3 times on Atlanta's final drive. Couldn't ask for anything better on a potential game-winning drive situation."

Tavia Hunt shared her opinion on illegal immigration in the U.S.

A week before taking a stand for the Chiefs, Tavia Hunt went viral for her statement on illegal immigration. Donald Trump has been vocal about illegal immigration in the U.S. for around a decade. Trump highlighted this topic during his rallies for this year's presidential elections.

Last week, Hunt shared her take on the same:

"If we don't secure our border, we're going to lose our country."

Donald Trump made a similar statement in July during the Republican National Convention (via The NY Times):

“Today, our cities are flooded with illegal aliens … It's a massive invasion at our southern border that has spread misery, crime, poverty, disease, and destruction to communities all across our land."

Following the assassination attempt on Trump on July 13, Tavia Hunt asked for a "collective change" from fans. With a month left until the presidential election, fans may hear more of her thoughts on social media.
