Chiefs owner's wife Tavia Hunt echoes sentiment outlining Patrick Mahomes disrespect in NFL Top 100
Despite being a three-time Super Bowl champion and a two-time NFL MVP, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was not named the league's best player. The annual "NFL Top 100" list was unveiled last week, and Mahomes ranked fourth.
The NFL Top 100 list is compiled by surveying NFL players to find out who they believe is the top player in the league. Tavia Hunt, wife of Kansas City Chiefs co-owner Clark Hunt, thinks that Mahomes was ranked too low.
In a post on her Instagram story, Tavia Hunt re-shared NFL reporter Cameron Wolfe's thoughts about the disrespect the NFL has shown Mahomes.
"Patrick Mahomes may end up being the greatest player to ever play football when he's done. Yet every year, he gets unsolicited motivation in disrespect. First, the Raiders Mahomes Kermit puppets. Now, players rank him No. 4 in #NFLTOP100 of league he has dominated. Good Luck, NFL," Wolfe said
One would imagine that giving the Kansas City Chiefs more motivation may not be the best decision.
Tyreek Hill responded to Nick Wright's evaluation of Patrick Mahomes ranking
Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs have won two consecutive Super Bowl titles and three in the last five seasons. That, however, wasn't enough for his fellow NFL players to rank him at the top of the list.
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill took the top spot in this year's list. Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson was ranked second and San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey was listed third.
NFL analyst Nick Wright noted that Mahomes and the Chiefs defeated the entire top three en route to his third Lombardi Trophy. Hill didn't take that comment lightly and then responded to Wright:
"Go cry on set Tomorrow."
In the 14-year history of the NFL's Top 100 list, Tyreek Hill became the first non-quarterback to be ranked at number one.
