Chiefs' Rashee Rice to face 'multi-game suspension' as $1,000,000 car crash lawsuit looms: Report
The punishment for Rashee Rice's role in the Dallas car crash from the NFL has yet to be handed down, but it's unlikely to be a tame one.
Per reports from the Daily Mail, it's probably going to be a multi-game suspension. He is also facing eight criminal charges for it, which could impact the severity for the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver.
Adam Schefter of ESPN said:
"On top of the legal issues and lawsuit he is facing, Rice is expected to be disciplined by the NFL, resulting in at least a multi-game suspension."
Chiefs GM Brett Veach has already said that wide receiver will be a position to look at in the NFL Draft, something perhaps exacerbated by Rice's looming suspension. Via Daily Mail, he said:
"I think much like any position, we're always looking to get better. We put a high priority on the depth in our roster, so we'll attack that much like we do all positions and try to get the very best players we can."
The Chiefs' wide receiver depth and talent was called into question in 2023. Despite winning the Super Bowl, the position group was less than excellent. They added Marquise Brown, but with no Rice for potentially a long time, the depth chart remains a little thin.
Rashee Rice lawsuit: What did the Chiefs WR do?
Rashee Rice crashed a car while traveling upwards of 100 miles per hour and fled the scene, resulting in eight charges pending. It's very unlikely that he faces jail time, but his NFL season will be impacted.
He's also being sued by the victims for $1 million. Things took a major turn for the promising wide receiver when he crashed his car that was rented. Unfortunately, it's likely to cost him a lot of money, which is not good for someone on a rookie contract in the NFL.
It's also going to cost him a few games on the sidelines where he cannot help his team try and make it three championships in a row.
