Chiefs rookie WR Xavier Worthy threatens to boycott Madden 25
The Kansas City Chiefs drafted wide receiver Xavier Worthy with the 28th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. The reigning Super Bowl champions traded up in the draft to get the speedster, and he is projected to have a big role on the team in his rookie season.
Worthy set a new record for 40-yard dash timing leading up to the draft at the NFL combine. He had a timing of 4.21 seconds. However, that is not enough for him to be the fastest receiver in Madden 25.
As per reports, the Chiefs rookie has 98 speed in the game's latest edition. Tyreek Hill is still the fastest player in the game with 99 speed. Worthy is tied for the second-fastest player in the game with Detroit Lions wideout Jameson Williams.
The Texas product expressed his frustration with Madden's rating system on his Instagram story and said:
"Finna boycott the game."
Madden's rating system has always frustrated many people. Apart from Worthy, Philadelphia Eagles safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson also called out the game's developers after he wasn't among the top 10 safeties in the game.
Puka Nacua, who is coming off a historic rookie season, has an overall rating of just 84 in the game. While the Seattle Seahawks' Tyler Lockett still has an overall rating of 88, despite an underwhelming season.
Madden 25 ratings for Xavier Worthy and other Chiefs receivers
The Kansas City Chiefs added Xavier Worthy and Marquise Brown to improve their wide receiver room, which lacked explosiveness last season. Patrick Mahomes now has plenty of playmakers along with Travis Kelce and Rashee Rice, all of whom will make life easier for the reigning Super Bowl MVP.
Worthy has an overall rating of just 75 in the video game, but it wouldn't be surprising if he ends up being an 80+ overall player by the time his rookie season is over.
Here are the Madden 25 ratings for all of the Chiefs wide receivers:
- Marquise Brown - 81
- Rashee Rice - 81
- Kadarius Toney - 77

- Xavier Worthy - 75
- Justin Watson - 74
