Chiefs star Isiah Pacheco brings holiday cheer after meeting with young fan with rare cancer diagnosis
Kansas City Chiefs RB Isiah Pacheco made a Chiefs teenage fan's day, who is battling a rare cancer. Matthew was invited for what he believed was a routine tour today. However, he was treated to a surprise more than he could have imagined.
As the fan was taking a tour of the Chiefs' home field, Isiah walked out to greet him. The young fan received autographed Chiefs merchandise and a pair of tickets to the upcoming game against the Houston Texans.
The Chiefs' official Instagram account posted a few glimpses of the heartwarming meetup.
Isiah and Matthew's interaction was part of the Chiefs’ holiday outreach efforts.
Is Isiah Pacheco ready to suit up for Week 16's Chiefs vs Texans after a turbulent season?
Isiah Pacheco will be available for the Kansas City Chiefs as they get ready to host the Houston Texans in a crucial game today. Winning the Week 16 clash could secure the team a first-round playoff bye.
Chiefs starting RB Isiah Pacheco, who suffered a fractured fibula in Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals, has slowly regained form since his return in November. During Pacheco's absence from Weeks 3 to 12, there was a gap in the Kansas City Chiefs' backfield. In his absence, veteran Kareem Hunt stepped into the starting role.
However, after his return in Week 13, Pacheco logged 44 rushing yards on seven carries and one reception for five yards during his Week 13 against the Las Vegas Raiders. Since then, he has become a key contributor to the Chiefs' offensive game plan.
Unfortunately, in Week 14's Chiefs vs Chargers clash, Pacheco was hit with a hefty fine of $45,020 for unnecessary roughness. In spite of the fact no penalty flag was thrown during the game, the NFL office took action. It came after Pacheco made contact with Chargers CB Kristian Fulton by lowering his helmet after catching a short pass from QB Patrick Mahomes.
The main reason behind Pacheco's return, as claimed by Chiefs HC Andy Reid, was to get him back into the rhythm of the game rather than on his individual stats.
