Chiefs' Travis Kelce admits dreaming of being a "star" for Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are labeled America's Team, and even Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is a fan of theirs.

Travis admitted to his brother Jason on the latest episode of the New Heights podcast that he always wanted to be a star for the Cowboys.

“Dude I grew up a huge Jason Witten appreciator, The Cowboys were always the (expletive) boys when they had Deion (Sanders) and Emmitt (Smith). Dude, I used to want to be a star (referencing the Cowboys logo),” Travis Kelce said.
"Dude, stop saying that, you never wanted to be a Cowboy, Why would you have wanted to be a Cowboy?” Jason Kelce responded.

Travis Kelce ended up becoming one of the best tight ends with the Kansas City Chiefs

Although Travis Kelce never got to play for the Dallas Cowboys, he became one of the greatest tight ends of all time with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Drafted as a third-round pick in 2013, Kelce appeared in one game as a rookie.

He came onto the scene in his second season, having over 800 receiving yards and five touchdowns. From 2016-2022, Kelce put together seven straight 1,000-yard-plus seasons as a tight end, the most ever by a tight end.

He is a three-time Super Bowl champion, seven-time All-Pro and has been selected to nine Pro Bowls.

While it may have been a dream for Kelce to play for the big star growing up, it seems like he will never have a chance to live that dream.

Travis Kelce signed a two-year, $34.25 million contract extension with the Chiefs this off-season, becoming the highest-paid tight end in the NFL. It seems as if he will end his career with the Chiefs.
