Christian Kirk's wife Ozzy drops heartwarming 5-word message after 'toughest' Jags WR's season-ending surgery
Christian Kirk is out for the season with a collarbone injury. This is Kirk's second straight season-ending injury, making it a concerning affair for the wide receiver and his fans.
Kirk hurt himself during the team's Week 8 Sunday clash against the Green Bay Packers. The WR was hurt in the final quarter at EverBank Stadium, landing on his shoulder while catching a pass from QB Trevor Lawrence. Wearing a sling after the game, it was later confirmed that Kirk would miss another season.
While devastated by the news, Kirk's wife Ozzy reached out to their followers on social media. Referring to the WR as the toughest person she knew, Ozzy made sure to hype her husband.
"The toughest person I know," Ozzy Kirk wrote on Instagram.
She even thanked everyone who reached out, penning an emotional note in another post.
"7AM surgery this morning! Everything went well & Christian is currently recovering. I will respond to you all as soon as I get some down time. Thank you for all the messages full of love and prayers. It truly means so much during this time," Ozzy wrote.
Christian Kirk pens down motivating message after injury ends another NFL season
In 2023, Kirk missed multiple games due to a core muscle injury that needed surgery. This year, he will miss the entire season after his collarbone injury.
Despite the trying time and difficult situation, Kirk is trying his best to remain motivated and hopeful. The WR is viewing this as an obstacle, confident that his NFL journey isn't coming to an end anytime soon.
"The “obstacle” is always the way, and that’s how I choose to attack it. My journey is far from over in this league, and know I’ll be back better than ever," Kirk wrote in his caption.
He addressed his teammates, fans and coaches, apologizing for not being with the team the remainder of the season. However, he loves football and has promised to come back better in 2025.
Ozzy, QB Trevor Lawrence, Chiefs WR DeAndre Hopkins and Cardinals WR Zay Jones were a few others who commented encouraging messages on Kirk's post.
Kirk was averaging career-best 14 yards per catch and had a total of 27 catches for 379 yards and 1 TD in the season until his injury.
