CJ Stroud’s mom drops perfect 3-word reaction after Texans’ heartfelt call to mothers
For a man, there's no bigger supporter and motivator than his mom. On Saturday, Houston Texans shared an adorable post on X, featuring a clip of its players talking about their moms. In the video, the athletes revealed the last time they called their moms.
The wholesomeness of the video won C.J. Stroud's mom Kimberly Stroud's heart, who came forward to share her adorable reaction. Reacting to the clip of Houston Texans players' adorable confessions, Kim commented:
"I love this."
C.J. Stroud's mother Kimberly is one of his biggest inspirations that helped him achieve massive success in life. The Texans quarterback's father Coleridge Bernard Stroud III was a pastor at a church in Rancho Cucamonga.
However, when C.J. Stroud was just 13 years old, Coleridge was sentenced to jail for 30 years. The incident left a huge impact on the mind of the quarterback, which his mother Kimberly helped him recover from. After the sentence, Kimberly became a single mother to four kids, and a great motivation for Stroud.
C.J. Stroud crowned mother Kimberly as the biggest cheerleader and inspiration
Having to separate from your father at such a young age is bound to be hard for anyone. It wasn't easy for C.J. Stroud as well, considering Coleridge was like a "best friend" more than just a father to the quarterback. In an interview with 'The Pivot Podcast' in 2022, Stroud recalled his separation from his father when he said:
"My pops, he was my best friend, to have your best friend be snatched like that, it was tough. I just look at the things my dad did that were positive, but for a while, I hated my pops, for real. Like, man, how could you leave me like that?
"When I talk to him now, I don’t hold [any] ill will. I tell him, ‘I love you man'. At the end of the day, you made your mistakes and I made mine," Stroud further added.
C.J. Stroud was the No. 2 pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, and its his mother who played the biggest role in his success. Talking about his mother’s contribution to his success, in a conversation with NFL Network later that year, Stroud said:
"My mom, she had to play both roles for me for a while; mother and father. I’m super blessed to have a mother like I do."
While C.J. Stroud is the biggest inspiration for many upcoming athletes, his mother Kimberly will always remain his motivation. The Texans are currently on a win streak, with the upcoming Week 7 game against the Packers their next outing. Do you think Stroud will be able to beat Jordan Love?
