Clyde Edwards-Helaire's wife JoJo delivers 3-word reaction as Saints sign RB after sudden Chiefs release
The Kansas City Chiefs made a surprising move on Monday when they released running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Andy Reid confirmed Helaire's exit on Tuesday, via a media conference. However, 24 hours after his release, he signed with the New Orleans Saints.
While Edwards-Helaire's separation from the Chiefs may have been tough for him, his wife JoJo focused on its flip side as she would get to be back in her home state of Louisiana. On Wednesday, JoJo shared a three-word reaction after her husband signed with the Saints via her Instagram.
"I'm coming home," JoJo wrote.
JoJo Edwards-Helaire graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana in 2021. Even though Clyde's exit from the Chiefs was emotional, having the chance to support her husband in Louisiana would balance things up for her.
Following the Chiefs' shocking move, fans were convinced that the RB would remain in the practice squad. However, he will now be part of the Saints' offense.
Clyde Edwards-Helaire's wife JoJo confirmed RB's exit from Chiefs
On Tuesday, JoJo Edwards-Helaire took to her Instagram to confirm that the running back has finalized his exit from the Chiefs. JoJo posted a picture of Clyde Edwards-Helaire heading inside the airport.
"And just like that...." Jojo captioned.
Before his wife's Instagram story, Clyde took to X on Tuesday with a message for the Chiefs and their fans.
"Love ya KC! A family I didn’t know I needed, y’all made a Kid from Baton Rouge dreams come true! To Chiefs Kingdom, its all love and the support I had in troubling times will forever be unmatched from you guys! With love! -Clydro," Clyde tweeted.
Clyde was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2020 as the 32nd overall pick in the first round. He rushed for 803 yards in his rookie year, but his performance consistently decreased over the next three years.
In the 2021 season, Clyde Edwards-Helaire rushed for 517 yards, 302 in 2022 and 2023 last year. It will be interesting to see what the future holds for him with the Saints.
