"CNN trying to protect Biden": Antonio Brown takes aim at network's coverage, calls it 'awful journalism'

Former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown took shots at current US President Joe Biden and CNN for their coverage of the debate on Thursday night. The US President was stumbling over his words, and CNN, at one point, cut him off mid-sentence so he wouldn't go on a tangent.

"CNN trying to protect Biden by cutting him off mid sentence is awful journalism but not surprising," Brown wrote on X.

Since retiring, Brown has been vocal on social media, sharing his views on President Biden.

After being frustrated by how Biden and Trump were acting, Antonio Brown said he was thinking about running for President.

Antonio Brown played in the NFL from 2010 until 2021 and had estimated career earnings of $88 million, according to OverTheCap. He talked about it on a podcast.

"I mean, I'm f---ed up, you know what I'm saying?" Brown said on The Pivot Podcast (via CBS Sports). "I just can't comply with debt. You know, it's all about protecting yourself. But yeah, you know ... I'm not broke, but I'm fractured. ... I'm just reallocating the debt to take care of the debtors. That's all I'm doing.

"You know, anybody can sue you, take you for whatever you got," Brown said. "You know, at this point, I don't work, I don't make millions of dollars where it's coming in where I could just (pay off) some of that money. So, you know, Chapter 11 is about restructuring the money you're making so you can take care of the debt."

Brown played 146 NFL games, recording 12,291 yards and 83 receiving touchdowns. He was also a part of the 2020 Tampa Bay Buccaneers that won the Super Bowl and in those playoffs, he had eight receptions for 81 yards and two touchdowns.
