Colin Cowherd believes Dolphins is still the most desirable landing spot for Tom Brady - "Miami looks like a good fit for him"
Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Dallas Cowboys in the Wildcard Round in a disappointing manner. This means that their season is over. The Cowboys outplayed the Bucs completely, putting an end to a very bad season for the Bucs.
The focus now shifts to the impending free agency decision of Brady. He is likely to part with the Buccaneers and other teams are on the lookout for the star quarterback.
Although the San Francisco 49ers' name came up in the discussions to land Brady, Colin Cowherd believes the 49ers won't pursue Brady, and the Miami Dolphins will be a better option for the Bucs QB.
Here's what Colin Cowherd said about Brady's name being linked to the San Francisco 49ers:
"The reality is Brock Purdy costs nothing for four years. He's more he's in his prime, Tom's not, he's more mobile. They got Trey Lance, Brock Purdy and they're not paying neither one of them anything."
Cowherd continued:
"If you want to keep this defense. If you want to keep all those D lineman, you got to save somewhere and you know, I think, I think to your point Brady now no longer elevates, he needs protection. You can't have a bad right tackle with Tom. You can't look at their offense in the last three months. You have to have a run game."
He added:
"I think Miami looks like a good fit for Tom in terms of they kind of have offensively, they kind of have all the pieces. A lot of bubbles screen guys, one over-the-top guy tight in that one and it's the San Francisco system."
The 49ers are doing well with Brock Purdy as their quarterback, and with Trey Lance also back next season, a move for Brady will not make any sense for Kyle Shanahan.
The Miami Dolphins have uncertainty around the health of Tua Tagovailoa and that could make them pursue Tom Brady.
Tom Brady will be the ideal quarterback for Miami
Similar to Tom Brady, Tua Tagovailoa also doesn't make many plays with his feet and is comfortable passing the ball to the likes of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Brady can immediately fit into the scheme of things for the Miami Dolphins.
Although the Dolphins' GM has stated that Tua Tagovailoa is their QB for next season, it will all depend on the health of the former Alabama player. A move for Tom Brady would make absolute sense for Miami if Tua Tagovailoa doesn't recover in due time.
