Colin Cowherd boldly compares Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes to Muhammad Ali

Tom Brady and Patrick Mahomes are certainly two of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time in NFL history. Brady has just about every major quarerback stat and record, and Mahomes is on pace to potentially break and capture some of Brady's records.

There's no question that those two are among the greatest to ever play in the NFL. Recently, on the Games With Names podcast, with former wide receiver Julian Edelman, Cowherd compared boxing legend Muhammad Ali to both Brady and Mahomes.

He thinks Ali would have thrived in today's sports media world and said he was a mesh of Brady, Mahomes and soccer great Ronaldo.

"If you YouTube ‘Muhammad Ali’ and go to Muhammad Ali’s best press conferences; you can’t believe it… He’s going on these four-minute soliloquies, and you’re like, ‘Where’s the teleprompter? I’m a broadcaster, like, how is he doing this?' Ali today would be like Ronaldo; good-looking, Tom Brady; successful, and Mahomes; talented. He was everything—the looks, the talk. I think Ali was born early; he would have been amazing."

It's just about no question or argument that Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time. He has seven Super Bowl victories, 10 Super Bowl appearances, five Super Bowl MVPs. He is also a three-time league MVP, a 15-time Pro Bowler, and six-time All-Pro.

Brady has also the record for most passing completions, yards, touchdowns, quarterback wins, comeback wins and post-season victories.

He had a remarkable 23-season career in the NFL and suffered just one losing season.

Patrick Mahomes, on the other hand, is carving his path towards Brady's greatness.

At age 28, Mahomes has accomplished more than most NFL quarterbacks in their entire careers.

Mahomes has already won three Super Bowls and has been Super Bowl MVP in all three of those wins. He's also been a league MVP twice and has been named to six Pro Bowls and three All-Pro teams.

In just seven NFL seasons, Mahomes has thrown for 28,424 yards and 219 touchdowns. He has an impressive 15-3 postseason record and some think he could catch up to Tom Brady's status as the 'greatest of all-time'.

When it's all said and done, if Mahomes continues to play this way, he and Brady could be standing at the top of the mountain for quarterbacks in NFL history.
