Colin Cowherd claims Buffalo Bills are not a Super Bowl team after loss to Jets
One of the biggest surprises from Week 9 of the NFL season came when the New York Jets defeated the Buffalo Bills, 20-17.
Following the loss, sports personality Colin Cowherd had a bold take on the Bills, while speaking on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, and stated that they are not a Super Bowl team.
"You can't just be a fighter looking for knockouts. You have to have some nuance because you get to the playoffs and these games get close. Look at Cincinnati, by the way, when they couldn't run and now that yesterday they could run two totally different teams. If Cincinnati can run like that the rest of the year, not even Kansas City is beating them.
"You've got to be able to occasionally run the football, but the Bills do nothing with nuance. And yesterday was a game that needed nuance. So they are so dependent on Josh Allen and the Jets have excellent corners to shut down the big play. Well, Buffalo is so reliant on the big play and then when they couldn't run, they're in third and eight. Well if you're at third and eight against this Jets pass rush, good luck."
Cowherd added that the Buffalo Bills are a limited team because they are a one-dimensional offense.
"The Jets have excellent corner shots. Gardner may be the best pure corner in the league. He's unbelievable. And so when you take away the big play from Buffalo and make them run the ball and eat the clock and have a little nuance, they're limited.
"They're a limited team. We are four years in now with Buffalo, four or five. They still don't have a reliable running game in five of the eight games they've played. Josh Allen's been the leading rusher, including in both losses. You're not going to win Super Bowls like that."
AFC East featuring Buffalo Bills and New York Jets is among most competitive divisions in NFL
Even after the Buffalo Bills' loss to the New York Jets, the former still stand in first place in the AFC East, but it's a close race. .
The last-place Patriots even have a winning record of 5-4. This may be the most competitive the AFC East has ever been and it may come down to the last game of the regular season to see who takes the crown in the division.
