Colin Cowherd claims Josh Allen has peaked
Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen started the season on a hot streak. However, as the snow starts to fall in Buffalo, his production has fallen as well.
Speaking on the Herd with Colin Cowherd, NFL analyst Colin Cowherd predicted that the sun is setting on the quarterback. He said:
"Can we make the argument that Josh Allen will never be Josh Allen again? It was this brilliant offensive guy [in Brian Daboll] that sandpapered him. And now he's reverting back to what he was, which is, 'oh, my Lord, he's taking huge swings. He's not accurate.'"
He continued, explaining that the team may never recover from his loss:
"My takeaway is 'Josh is amazing,' but if you look at how good Daboll is, you may never duplicate that again. You may never get another Brian Daboll in Buffalo."
How did Brian Daboll play into Josh Allen's development?
Brian Daboll was added to the Buffalo Bills as Josh Allen's offensive coordinator in 2018, the same year that the quarterback was drafted. 2022 is the first year the quarterback is playing without him. Daboll took the job as the head coach of the New York Giants, a team that most would agree, is having the best year of Daniel Jones' career.
The Bills quarterback has thrown for 20 touchdowns and ten interceptions this season, with the team sitting at 6-3. Last season, the team went 11-6 and he threw for 36 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. At face value, if the quarterback stays on pace, he'll end up with similar stats by the end of this year.
However, considering his performance over the last month, many are anxious that the team could be in a free fall. Since October 30, he is 1-2, has thrown for just 3 touchdowns and six interceptions and is riding a two-game losing streak. He's also not healthy as he has been dealing with an elbow injury.
