“I really feel like Brady's going through a divorce. He's distracted this week” – Colin Cowherd claims Tom Brady is slipping amid rumored separation with Gisele Bundchen
Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers suffered a shocking defeat in Week 6 at the hands of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Brady's offense once again looked lackluster as they scored just 18 points against the Steelers. This is the same defense that conceded 38 points to the Buffalo Bills last week.
Brady's game on the field is rumored to have been heavily impacted by the ongoing troubles in his personal life. He is reported to be on the brink of divorce from his wife Gisele Bundchen. The Buccaneers are off to a poor 3-3 start and many wonder whether Brady can make them a Super Bowl juggernaut once again.
Colin Cowherd spoke about the situation on his podcast. He thinks Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes have separated themselves from the rest of the league as the best quarterbacks. Here's what he said on the Colin Cowherd podcast:
"Watching Allen and Mahomes this year, I feel like they've separated from the league. I really feel like Brady's going through a divorce. He's distracted this week. He missed a practice, went to a wedding flew a private jet to a game."
"Stafford had another pick-six. Jalen Hurts has played really well. But there are some, you know, there's some size limitations. I feel like Mahomes and Allen have separated from the league. And that's tier one."
Cowherd continued:
"And then there's about 12-10 Guys in tier two. Bottom of that. Garoppolo maybe. Jalen Hurts, middle of that top of that it'd be you know, Brady and Burrow and Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert."
Brady did attend New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft's wedding in New York during the week. He didn't even travel with the squad to Pittsburgh. Brady threw for 243 yards and a touchdown against the Steelers in Week 6, and he took a lot of criticism for the loss.
Why is Tom Brady struggling on the field?
There are various reasons why Tom Brady and the Buccaneers aren't off to a good start this season. Not only is Brady reportedly suffering from issues off the field with Gisele Bundchen, Tampa Bay haven't been healthy this campaign.
Brady lost his starting center Ryan Jensen for the entire season as he suffered an injury prior to Week 1. Several other offensive personnel haven't been available either. Juilio Jones was brought in to fill the void left by Antonio Brown but he has struggled with injuries.
Brady would love to turn things around but he needs healthy players alongside him or else it will be tough for the Buccaneers. With pressure mounting and cracks starting to show, it will be interesting to see if Tom Brady can turn this around.
