Colin Cowherd compares Shedeur Sanders' rise in Browns QB room to accidental "Post-it notes" invention
Shedeur Sanders has been getting plenty of praise since the Cleveland Browns took him at No. 144 pick in April. The quarterback has been linked with the QB1 role after a strong run during the Browns' OTAs and mandatory minicamp.
On Thursday, analyst Colin Cowherd compared Sanders' rise in Cleveland's QB room to Post-it notes' invention in the 1960s.
"So there were these two scientists back in like the 1960s for 3M, the company 3M," Cowherd said, via "The Herd." "And they were trying to create this super strong adhesive for the aerospace industry. But even though they're scientists and smart guys, they ended up creating a much weaker adhesive that was very removable, and that became post-it notes.
" ... But the point being is they stumbled into wild success, and I think that's what the Cleveland Browns have done. The coach in the GM did not want to, they didn't want to draft Shedeur Sanders, and they did in the fifth round, two rounds after Dillon Gabriel, and he's crushing it. He's their best quarterback in camp.”
Many believed Sanders would be picked in the first round. However, the quarterback surprisingly went to the Browns in the fifth, on the third and final day of the NFL draft.
Nonethesless, Sanders has hit back strongly in the offseason program after his draft slide.
Browns HC Kevin Stefanski impressed with Shedeur Sanders' improvement

On Thursday, Cleveland Browns coach Kevin Stefanski waxed lyrical on Shedeur Sanders' improvement in the offseason program.
“He’s a very, very hard worker; he has fun when he’s in the building," Stefanski said on Thursday, via the "Cleveland Browns Daily" podcast.
"I’m enjoying watching him progress with every single meeting, with every single rep he’s doing a great job. He’s doing a really, really nice job. I think he’s showing up early, he’s staying late. He continues to get better every single day, and that’s the fun part.”
The Browns have yet to decide on their QB1 for the 2025 season, but Sanders appears to have made a strong case
Sanders will have to pip Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel for the starting berth.
