Colin Cowherd unconvinced by Aaron Rodgers despite win vs Cowboys
Aaron Rodgers is enjoying his first victory since the first quarter of the season. Heading into the game against the Cowboys, not many expected the Packers to snap their losing streak against one of their toughest opponents of the stretch. However, they did just that.
To get it done, however, they had to take the Cowboys into overtime. Speaking on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, NFL analyst Colin Cowherd expressed an unimpressed stance in reaction to the win. Here's how he put it, doubling down on his assertion that the team is out of the picture:
"We know who the Packers are. This isn't about the Packers. The previous five games for Green Bay, they had no offensive balance and they won't in the next two against physical Tennessee and super-physical Philadelphia."
He went on, explaining that the Cowboys imploded more than the Packers exploded:
"This is about Dallas allowing a wobbly Green Bay offense who didn't have their best receiver to get over 200 yards rushing and over 200 yards passing, 35 minutes in time of possession, almost 50% on third downs."
Is Aaron Rodgers down for the count?
A week after his worst game of the season, the Packers quarterback flipped the stat sheet on its head. In the loss against the Detroit Lions, he threw for one touchdown and three interceptions. In the win against the Dallas Cowboys, he threw for three touchdowns and zero interceptions.
The Packers put up nine points against the Lions and 31 against the Cowboys. Heading into the Lions game, Rodgers was riding a five-game losing streak dating back to October 10th. T-shirts and shorts were still worn in the north of the country the last time the Packers won a game, underscoring just how long it had been.
Now, fans are beginning to wonder if Rodgers can help pull another season back from the brink.
The veteran's next task awaits him at Lambeau Field when the Packers host the Tennessee Titans for a Week 11 clash.
