Colin Kaepernick's wife Nessa advocates for ex-49ers QB's flag football dream at 2028 LA Olympics
It's been eight years since Colin Kaepernick's last NFL game. Waiting for another opportunity to play football, Kaepernick is still hoping that things turn in his favor.
In a recent interview with Sky Sports, the former San Francisco 49ers QB said that not only is he motivated to return to the NFL field, but also possibly representing the USA in flag football at the 2028 LA Olympics.
"Hopefully, we'll be out there," Kaepernick said. "We're gonna work on some things, see if we can make it in there. But we'd love to be out there."
Kaepernick's wife, Nessa, hypeed her husband, hoping that his 2028 Olympics dream comes true.
"SEEING COLIN SO HAPPY IS THE BEST 😍😍😍," Nessa wrote on Instagram.
Commenting on the post from her personal account, Nessa added:
"It would be amazing to see Colin at the upcoming Olympics."
Furthermore, Nessa was also grateful for all the support Colin Kaepernick has been receiving internationally:
"Also, OMG the love and support overseas for Colin has been breathtaking. I am so thankful to witness Colin being loved and appreciated."
Bending the knee during the national anthem to protest against police brutality, Kaepernick received much backlash as well as much support. However, the 49ers star hasn't been signed by a team since protesting in 2016.
Colin Kaepernick had an important message for NFL owners
Despite eight years away from the field, Colin Kaepernick has continued to hold out hope of changing the mind of an NFL team owner. In fact, the former QB is confident he can help them win a Super Bowl.
Kaepernick has continued to train, hoping to make it to the NFL field again.
"We're still training, still pushing," Kaepernick said. "So hopefully, we've just got to get one of these team owners to open up.
"It's something I've trained my whole life for, so to be able to step back on the field, I think that would be a major moment, a major accomplishment for me. I think I could bring a lot to a team and help them win a championship."
Jim Harbaugh has also considered him for a coaching job with the Los Angeles Chargers.
