Could Tom Brady join the 49ers in 2023? Stars aligning for Bucs QB

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is set to be a free agent next offseason and it's anybody's guess as to what or where he will be.

On ESPN's Get Up, the crew discussed Brady's chances of leaving Tampa Bay next offseason and talked about possible teams he could sign with.

Former NFL cornerback Domonique Foxworth pleaded that the 49ers would be a good landing spot for Brady since they have a good offensive line.

Foxworth said:

"San Francisco is a lot closer and I do think that you can take pressure off time with short passes. There's the reason what you want Tom Brady for is what we saw last night, like, you would like to protect Tom for most of the game in my opinion and then you know that the end of the game everyone on that field trust Tom Brady."
"In that situation, that has huge value, but being able to protect him throughout the rest of the game and having throws, short passes to say Deebo Samuel or Christian McCaffrey and then make plays would be a nice thing."

Brady signed with the Buccaneers in 2020 and delivered them their second Super Bowl (his seventh) in franchise history.

The following season, he led them to the divisional round of the playoffs before falling to the Los Angeles Rams.

The Bucs are currently 6-6 following their close Monday night victory over the New Orleans Saints and are in first place in the weak NFC South division.

If the Bucs offer him a deal, they'll likely offer him a one-year deal if he chooses to stay in Tampa. There's also the possibility that he could rejoin his old team, the New England Patriots, for maybe one more crack at a Super Bowl in New England.

Brady could retire and hop into the booth as he has a deal lined up with Fox Sports to be a color commentator/broadcaster.

Only time will tell what Brady will do, but for now, he's focusing on a playoff run with Tampa.
