Cowboys icon Dez Bryant takes Kerry Washington's side over Donald Trump's felony charges - "She think she's on Scandal"
Dez Bryant, as seen many times before, is nowadays famous for his very active X.com (formerly Twitter) profile, where he shares his thoughts on all sorts of topics. And on Thursday, he made his feelings on a political issue known.
Kerry Washington recently said that if Donald Trump could run for president campaign despite being charged with a felony, "then we should remove that box from job applications." The former Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl wide receiver proceeded to back her up on that notion, even referencing her hit drama/thriller series:
Dez Bryant becomes Micah Parsons' latest defender amidst Malik Hooker controversy
Speaking of Dez Bryant's Cowboys of old, there has been much intrateam tension lately. And it is not solely about contract extensions.
Rather, it is about Micah Parsons getting called out by Malik Hooker, who claimed recently on "All Facts No Brakes" that the elite linebacker had been focusing more on his B/R podcast "The Edge" than actually playing football and helping the team win a Super Bowl. There are many proponents and dissidents of that notion, and Bryant considers himself a member of the latter camp.
He said on his X.com account:
His post echoes statements made by Joy Taylor on SPEAK, in that she said the two sides could have mended their differences in person and privately rather than taken potshots at each other in the media.
FanSided's Cem Yolbuan concurs with that notion, saying:
"If you are accusing a teammate of causing distractions through his podcast, why are you going on one to create an even bigger distraction?
"Plus, it's impossible to argue that his podcast is a distraction for Parsons. He hasn't missed a game since coming into the league, and not only has he been one of the best players on the Cowboys, but he has arguably been the best defender in the league over the last three years."
He concludes by saying that the coaching and management staff should do their best to prevent the situation from escalating:
"The Cowboys are doing a bad job protecting their star player. Having members of the team discuss these issues publicly is not a good look and the Cowboys have to make sure Parsons feels supported by the organization before this issue gets out of hand."
Neither Mike McCarthy nor Jerry Jones has spoken up on the matter so far.
