Cowboys insider discusses Dak Prescott's potential payday that would surpass Jordan Love's $55,000,000 deal

As the 2024 NFL season approaches, uncertainty about Dak Prescott's future with the Dallas Cowboys remains a hot topic. The veteran quarterback already broke the bank when he signed a four-year, $160 million deal with the franchise that will end after this campaign.

Prescott will complete the final year of his contract and then decide what to do next. After a busy offseason for quarterbacks, the nine-year veteran is reportedly looking for another massive deal. According to Cowboys insider Clarence E. Hill Jr., the floor for Dak is $55 million, the same as quarterbacks Jordan Love, Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence.

"I don't know what he's asking for. I just know that the baseline is 55 for sure, and we all know that 60 is what he could get on the market. And you know, it's somewhere in between. Now, I'm sure Dak is not asking, from my understanding, to go 60-plus, but he's certainly not taking a lesser deal," Hill said on Thursday's edition of The Rich Eisen Show.
"He owes it to his family, he said he owes it to the rest of the quarterbacks in the league to get a market-value deal. Now, what that is, is up for Dak and the Cowboys and the league to determine, but the baseline is clearly 55 million," Hill added.

The Cowboys extended CeeDee Lamb earlier this week, meaning they should focus on securing Prescott and Micah Parsons next. The quarterback and the team aren't rushing to finalize anything before the season begins, but this situation will be a popular topic during the regular season.

Jerry Jones has a clear message about not re-signing Dak Prescott before the 2024 season

Speaking about the Dak Prescott saga on Wednesday, Jerry Jones insisted that the organization is focused on having a good season and doesn't need to sign anything yet.

"We don't need to get this done before the season," Jones said. "We just don't need to get it done before the season. Because it's in all of our interest, Dak and everybody, to have a great season. And as a matter of fact, that's probably not realistic to think before the season.
"But my thought sitting right here is we'll have Dak [as Cowboys quarterback in 2025 and beyond]. But all I'm going to say is this: It's not done yet."

Prescott is coming off another remarkable regular season with the Cowboys, passing for 4,516 yards and 36 touchdowns.
