Cowboys LB Micah Parsons has 4-word message after creating history vs. Buccaneers on SNF
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons made history in the team's 26-24 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football.
In the win, Parsons recorded his 50th career sack and became the sixth NFL player since 1982 with at least 50.0 sacks in his first four seasons. The Cowboys PR sent out the post, and after the game, Parsons responded with a four-word phrase.
"All Glory to God!," Parsons wrote on X.
Parsons is one of the best pass rushers in the NFL, which was further validated by him joining a legendary list of players to record 50 sacks in their first four seasons.
The Cowboys selected Parsons 12th in the 2021 NFL draft. He's played in 61 games in his NFL career, recording 250 tackles, 50 sacks, nine forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries.
Parsons has a team option for 2025 and will become a free agent in 2026.
Micah Parsons is not looking to break the bank in his new deal
Micah Parsons will look to sign a contract extension this offseason, and he said he isn't looking to break the bank. Instead, Parsons wants to help the Cowboys win.
“It would be nice to be surrounded by good players," Parsons said, via NBC. “Players that will help me win championships, I’ll say that. To me, having $40 million and being chipped every play and slid into three, four people, that doesn’t sound too fun to me.
"So, to me, it’s about keeping people that can make a difference and obviously we’re going to get Sam [Williams] back, some players back. We’ll see how it breaks down, but I want to keep as many guys as possible. They will make the cap work, I don’t know.”
If Micah Parsons does take a bit of a discount, it will allow Dallas to build a better roster and compete for a Super Bowl.
The Cowboys were eliminated from playoff contention before their home game on Sunday kicked off. But, Dallas still edged out a win to improve to 7-8 on the season.
The Cowboys will return to the field on Sunday on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles.
