Cowboys LB Micah Parsons dissects Taylor Swift's impact on Travis Kelce's on-field dominance
Micah Parsons is the latest player to comment on the Travis Kelce/Taylor Swift relationship. The star celebrity couple has taken the world by storm, and it has gotten Parsons attention.
It's no secret that Kelce plays really well when the popstar is in the stands watching. His numbers are almost twice as good in those games, and it's something the league has taken notice of.
Parsons said he doesn't believe the credit necessarily goes to Swift, as this is something that many NFL players experience when someone they find attractive is watching:
"It’s not [because of] Taylor Swift, but imma tell y’all one thing, when there’s a ‘bad’ girl, and she’s in attendance, and she’s watching you, that gives you an extra boost of confidence. [Kelce] was already doing it, so now he’s like ‘I’m gonna do it, but more now.’"
The Dallas Cowboys linebacker gave credit to Kelce for upping his game when his new partner is in the building, but he believes that would be true whether it was Swift or someone else.
Whatever the reason, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end is averaging about 100 yards when the singer is in the building, and almost half when she's not. The Chiefs will need to fly her out to every game going forward.
Travis Kelce turns it on for Taylor Swift
Whether it's been against the Los Angeles Chargers, Chicago Bears, or New York Jets, Travis Kelce has had excellent days when Taylor Swift is in the suite watching with his family.
This is likely not gameplanned, but it is worth noting that after the first game she attended, Patrick Mahomes admitted that he wanted to get Kelce a touchdown, so maybe he's looking to Kelce more.
Either way, Kelce is and has been the top target on the offense for a very long time. That doesn't really change with or without Swift in the stands, so expect Kelce to continue dominating all year.
But if she is in the stands, he might do something special like he did last weekend.
