Dak Prescott's 'lack of postseason success' could be delaying his contract extension, claims Kay Adams
Dak Prescott's time with the Dallas Cowboys has reached a strange point, with his contract extension still pending as the 2024 NFL season nears. Fans and others from the NFL world eagerly await an update, wondering why the Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is delaying the deal.
Kay Adams, who hosts her show 'Up and Adams', discussed the delay and wondered if it has anything to do with their unimpressive playoff run.
Though they have a promising roster and opportunities, the Cowboys are yet to secure a Super Bowl win.
"Jerry did have some positive things to say about Dak as well, and about how much he's meant to the organization, but it's blatantly clear he's calling out Dak's lack of postseason success here," Adams said.
She even wondered if, after all the wait, Jerry Jones would let Prescott walk.
"Okay, also, the reference to the Cowboys situations really making it seem like he may end up letting Dak walk. Is he gonna let Dak walk?"
Despite promises, Kay Adams believes Prescott will end up in free agency if they don't sign before the season begins.
"All indications are that if it does not get done by Week 1, it is not getting done, and Dak hits the market after this year. People, that's crazy. That would make this year hand, hands down, the most fascinating situation we've seen for a quarterback, right? Name one that's more interesting. He's going to be the biggest free-agent quarterback of all time," Adams said.
Dak Prescott has 'stopped listening to' Jerry Jones' press conference comments
Dak Prescott, though patient with his situation, seems to have reached a point of ignoring Jerry Jones' comments at press conferences. While praising Prescott in some situations, Jones has refrained from providing a proper answer about the Cowboys' situation.
Prescott said:
“I stopped, honestly, listening to things (Jerry Jones) says to the media a long time ago. It doesn’t really hold weight with me.”
Despite constant speculations, only time can tell how the situation at Cowboys pans out.
Dallas will play its first 2024 game against the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 8.
