Dak Prescott says people are 'reaching' over injury concerns as Cowboys fans panic over QB's walking boot

Dak Prescott has the entire Dallas Cowboys fanbase worried. When he was spotted in Cabo San Lucas on vacation, Prescott was seen wearing a protective boot on his right foot.

Fans were quick to reshare the images, and were worried about Prescott's status as training camp approaches. The preseason games, too, are weeks away.

Though a timeline for the injury isn't available, reports revealed a light right ankle sprain. However, fans continued to panic over multiple injury concerns.

Speaking to Cowboys writer Clarence Hill Jr., Prescott said people are 'reaching'.

"People be reaching be man,” Prescott told Clarence.

Having said that, the earlier report by Ian Rapoport indicates Prescott's injury should not have any effect on his performance as the season begins.

"#Cowboys QB Dak Prescott, spotted here in a protective walking boot, is dealing with a very minor foot sprain and has been for a few days," Rapoport wrote. "It's not considered to be anything that should affect his preparation for 2024."

NFL training camps will begin on July 16, while the preseason starts in August.

The Cowboys are in the spotlight as the 2024 season approaches, with fans expecting Dak Prescott to lead them to the playoffs, and hopefully a Super Bowl.

Dak Prescott's injury history

Though most of them are minor, the Cowboys quarterback is not averse to injuries. Playing since 2016, Prescott injured his shoulder in 2019 against the Los Angeles Rams. However, he returned to the field a week later.

As of now, Prescott's most major injury was during the 2020 season. Against the New York Giants in Week 5, Prescott fractured and dislocated his ankle. He missed the remainder of the campaign.

The following season, Prescott's trouble with injury started in the offseason itself. A strained shoulder sidelined him during training camp. The QB also suffered a calf strain in Week 6 against the New England Patriots.

In 2022, Prescott began the season with a concerning note. He suffered a finger injury during their season opener vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, missing the next five games.

However, Prescott has been injury-free since then, playing every game in the 2023 season.

With a contract extension looming for Prescott and the team, fans remain worried about their QB's sudden injury.
