Dak Prescott spotted without protective boot in Texas after Cabo San Lucas trip with girlfriend Sarah Jane Ramos

Dak Prescott recently sparked panic about a potential injury when he shared photos of himself on social media wearing a protective boot. He did so during a vacation to Cabo San Lucas with his girlfriend Sarah Jane Ramos. He was wearing the boot on the vacation, resulting in much speculation that he could be dealing with some kind of lower leg injury.

While it is still unclear how the injury occurred, it was reportedly classified as a mild foot sprain. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback downplayed the situation and insisted that it's not a big deal. He may be accurate in his assessment after he was recently seen without the boot when hosting his Youth Football Camp.

With less than three weeks to go until the Cowboys open their training camp for the 2024 NFL season, a foot injury could have complicated Prescott's situation. Shedding the boot already is surely an encouraging sign, as well as his proclamation that there is nothing wrong with him. He commented on the situation to the media during his hosted camp.

Prescott explained that he is simply getting older and needs to take additional precautions in preparing his body for an upcoming NFL season. He said that he has been training hard, so he wanted to protect his surgically-repaired ankle when he went on a fishing trip. He wore the boot on the same ankle that suffered a season-ending injury in 2021.

According to Dak Prescott, he is full healthy and ready to go for the Cowboys' training camp. While it doesn't appear that any injuries are jeopardizing his availability, his current contract situation could be a different story.

Dak Prescott is seeking a new contract this year

Dak Prescott is entering the final year of his current contract with the Dallas Cowboys. Like many superstar players in this position, he is reportedly seeking an extension prior to the start of the season. The last time he signed a deal with the franchise, Jerry Jones made him the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL. Many rumors indicate that Prescott wants the same thing this time around.

In order to do so, he would need to surpass the $55 million in AAV that Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence currently have on their contracts. It's unclear if Jones is willing to do that, or if Prescott is willing to take any less. While he reported to mini camps and is expected to show up for training camp, it will be interesting to see if Prescott eventually holds out if he doesn't get the new deal he is currently seeking.
