“Let's give them a medal for hiring people who aren't creeps” – NFL analyst sounds off on Dan Snyder after Commanders’ latest statement
Amid controversy after controversy, the Washington Commanders have put out a statement claiming that they have turned their organization around. The message was designed to sway public opinion, but one NFL analyst scoffed at the attempt.
Speaking on The Peter King Podcast, show host Peter King claimed the team still has a long way to go.
"In the same statement, the franchise said something that I am so sick of hearing. One part was, 'The Commanders have made remarkable progress over the last two years'. First of all, the Commanders stink. They're a lousy football team... They have not made remarkable progress as a football team."
He went on, mocking the steps that they've taken to clean up their facility:
"Have they hired a bunch of people who seemingly are better people than the ones who have either been dismissed or found to have sexually harassed other employees? So what? Let's give them a silver dollar and let's give them a medal for hiring people who aren't creeps."
How are the Washington Commanders performing in 2022?
The Commanders are 2-4 and in last place in the NFC East, despite a primetime win on Thursday Night Football in Week 6.
After the win, it was revealed that Carson Wentz suffered a finger injury that is going to sideline him for more than a month. In his place, Taylor Heinicke will be hoping to spark an offense that has failed to score 20 points in their last four games.
This week, the team faces the Green Bay Packers, who are having troubles of their own. After a 3-1 start, Aaron Rodgers' side is now 3-3, having lost to the New York Giants and the New York Jets. The Washington team are hoping to extend the Packers' losing streak and start their own winning streak.
Its going to be an interesting match-up. However, the reputation of the organization can only fully recover when they prove that they have turned a corner in improving their workplace environment.
