Davante Adams calls for Tom Brady to unretire and team up at Raiders

Davante Adams has just sounded out Tom Brady and asked him to unretire for the Raiders so that the two can get to play together. The legendary quarterback played for the Patriots and the Buccaneers and won the Super Bowl with both teams, but is a minority stakeholder in Las Vegas now. He also has a history of unretiring after doing so to play a final season in Tampa Bay.

Hence, whenever the talk comes up about the GOAT, people are always wondering if he can come back and play. And when you are wide receiver like Davante Adams, and your success depends primarily on your quarterback, you are positively exuberant about the possibility.

On the Club Shay Shay podcast, Shannon Sharpe asked Davante Adams how old Brady is and if the wide receiver would take him at quarterback. He asked,

"(Beginning 52:14) You would take Tom Brady at.. how old is Brady?"

Davante Adams replied that he could not care less about how old the quarterback actually is as long as he feels fit with himself. The wide receiver imagined the possibility and how it would make him the first player to receive from both Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. Adams went on to acknowledge that the GOAT is getting older but said that he is better than half the quarterbacks in the NFL right now. The wide receivers' full answer was,

"Hell, yes. I knew when you said Tom Brady, I said let me see what you're saying. You talk about how old he is, I don't care. 58. Tom knows how I feel about it man, and I think I'd be the first person I played with Tom and Aaron. That'd be pretty cool. He’s getting older, but I mean he’s still got to be able to throw it better than half these dudes in the league."

Davante Adams' Tom Brady comments highlights Raiders QB problem

The Raiders got Jimmy Garoppolo last season and hoped he would lead the franchise going forward after getting rid of Derek Carr. Ultimately, that did not work out and they ended the season with a new coach and Aidan O'Connell as the starter. This year, they have Gardner Minshew to give him competition.

But none of them are elite and certainly not close to what Tom Brady was even in his final years. And Davante Adams might struggle to get service from them. When the other quarterbacks in the AFC West are Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert, and first-round pick Bo Nix, that does not raise much cause for optimism.
