Davante Adams makes feelings clear about rumored end of Aaron Rodgers' Jets era
Even Davante Adams couldn't help save the New York Jets' sinking ship. After losing to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, the Jets are now on a four-game losing streak with a 3-10 record.
The Jets had hoped that signing 4x NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers would help end their playoff drought, which dates back to 2010. However, Rodgers missed the entire season in his first year, and now his second season is also tanking.
With rumors afloat that this might well be the veteran QB's last season with the Jets, Kay Adams asked Davante Adams on the "Up and Adams Show" how he felt about the upcoming four games, which could be his final ones playing alongside Rodgers in New York.
"It'll be a sad it'll be a sad thing for sure," Adams said. "But, you know, hopefully that's not the case. But we so we got to make the most of these ones that we have here. We got four guaranteed."
Adams added that even though they lost the game against the Dolphins, it was a "step in the right direction". With just four games remaining in the season, he hoped that they would finish the season strong, even if on a losing record.
"It's not always going to be the perfect game, but you know, we're in between where we have been and where we want to be, so just finish the season out strong and see where everything kind of protects itself."
Davante Adams gives up hope on the 2024 season
Kay Adams posed a difficult question to the Jets player later in the conversation. While she acknowledged that Davante didn't claim to be a savior who would turn around the situation for the Jets, the season still didn't turn out how he might have hoped.
Davante Adams admitted that the season was lost, and that they would just try again next year.
"It takes takes a new year, a new chance, to kind of turn things around. So I'm not saying that this organization is just cursed forever."
He added that it was frustrating that just when they thought they had the game in their hands, the Jets would find a way to lose. However, he had no doubt that leaving the Las Vegas Raiders for the Jets was the right decision. The Jets are 3-10, while the Raiders are 2-11.
