Davante Adams opens up about Raiders exit rumors: "It was extremely annoying"

Davante Adams has shared his frustration about constantly being asked about moving away from the Raiders and said he is annoyed by it. He said that people keep speaking about it and that bothers him, but he understands why during the offseason, people might be interested in such stories. Speaking highly of himself, Davante Adams also said that his star billing makes him the center of attention.

He said, as reported by CBS:

"It was extremely annoying, still is. I mean, it's definitely not over as far as how people continue to speak on it. But you know what, the offseason is boring so they need things to talk about. And unfortunately, with the dramas that we have, talking about one seven [his jersey] gets some clicks. So they take advantage of that to kind of, get people's attention."

Davante Adams also wanted to make sure that people knew he was committed to the Raiders. He said that he is not feeding the rumors, and his teammates and family know what is in his heart. The wide receiver said that he is looking forward to competing and hopefully even winning the Super Bowl. He said:

"But at the end of the day, I'm not the one that's feeding any of that stuff. And my teammates know that my family knows that. And I'm just focused on being the best player I can be to come out here and help this team have a chance to hold up that trophy at the end of the year."

Why has Davante Adams been linked to move away from Raiders?

Davante Adams has been linked with a move away from the Raiders because of their uncertain quarterback situation. Aidan O'Connell took over last year from Jimmy Garoppolo but was not elite in any way. Gardner Minshew, who had a good season with the Colts last year but was officially their backup until Anthony Richardson got hurt, is another candidate.

None of that inspires confidence in an AFC West that has Patrick Mahomes, Justin Herbert and 2024 NFL draft's first-round selection Bo Nix. That is why Davante Adams is being constantly linked with a move away from the Raiders.

The Jets are always being mentioned since Aaron Rodgers plays there. Former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers needs a steady support player opposite Garrett Wilson, and his former Green Bay teammate could be an ideal solution.
