Davante Adams to Steelers? DeShon Elliott offers to sell Mercedes G-Wagon to facilitate trade for $140,000,000 Raiders All-Pro

It's certainly been an eventful few weeks in the National Football League. A week ago, Davante Adams asked to be traded away from the Las Vegas Raiders, fueling widespread speculation about where he would land.

Most believed the New York Jets would be the most logical landing spot for the Raiders All-Pro, until the franchise fired coach Robert Saleh on Tuesday morning.

With the Jets yet to make a move to facilitate a trade for Davante Adams, Pittsburgh Steelers safety DeShon Elliott saw an opportunity to get recruiting.

On 'The Sick Podcast' this week, Elliott put his cards on the table to bring Davante Adams to Pittsburgh.

“I’d like him to be a Steeler. That would help us a lot," Elliott said.
“He’s out there. He wants to go elsewhere. Bring him here. If we need to sell my G-Wagon, we can sell it.”

The Raiders acquired Adams in a blockbuster trade in March 2022 by sending a first-rounder and a second-rounder to the Packers. Soon after, he signed a five-year, $140 million contract extension with the franchise. The 31-year-old wide receiver is currently in the third year of that deal.

What is the Raiders' asking price for a Davante Adams trade?

According to Sportskeeda's NFL insider Tony Pauline, the Raiders are trying to secure a second-round draft pick in exchange for Adams.

Pauline also added that there are four teams interested in making a move for the Raiders All-Pro - the New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers and the New Orleans Saints.

Both the Jets and Saints are currently in limbo. The Jets just fired Robert Saleh with franchise owner Woody Johnson picking defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich as the interim coach.

The Saints, meanwhile, just suffered a major injury blow after Derek Carr suffered an oblique injury during the Monday Night Football loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

One man who was not a fan of the Raiders' asking price is Bill Belichick, who highlighted a few red flags in the Davante Adams trade sweepstakes.

On The Pat McAfee Show earlier this week, Belichick said:

"I think the second-round pick, I'd be surprised that they can get that for him. Then the question is, does Adams want a new contract? As a team, you've got to be careful. Do you want to get in the same situation that the Jets are in with Reddick, where you trade for a player and then you can't get a contract done with them?"
