Days after Shedeur Sanders asked Joe Flacco about dance moves, Browns QB calls out NFL stars for TikTok obsession

Joe Flacco fired back at the social media culture when reporters asked about his Browns teammate Shedeur Sanders' challenge to him to show off dance moves during minicamp.

As Cleveland’s 40-year-old quarterback fielded media questions after the minicamp on Wednesday.

"No TikTok dances," Flacco said. "The fact that people want to get on their phones and show people. That's embarrassing! You're an adult. Be an adult. I can't wrap my head around that."

Flacco also addressed the evolution of social media, noting that while platforms like X have become major news sources, they also blur the lines between credible information and opinion. He said that Instagram is the only platform he uses.

The veteran quarterback is entering his 18th NFL season. He joined the Browns late in 2023, helping the team reach the playoffs after injuries to multiple quarterbacks. Last season, he played eight games for the Indianapolis Colts, completing 65.3% of his passes for 1,761 yards, 12 touchdowns, and seven interceptions.

Flacco currently leads a crowded quarterback room that includes Sanders, Kenny Pickett, and Dillon Gabriel. Shedeur Sanders, 23, was drafted in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft after a dramatic fall from earlier first-round projections. He frequently jokes about the 17-year age gap between him and Flacco as per USA Today.

Despite the difference in age and experience, the quarterbacks have reportedly developed strong communication during minicamp. Shedeur Sanders said Flacco has provided useful guidance on reading coverages and route progressions.

Quarterback meetings have also become a setting for extended discussions and storytelling. Flacco recalled a recent meeting that ran late after a casual topic led to several anecdotes among the group.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski described the quarterback room dynamic as “high-level” and beneficial for team chemistry. The group also includes Deshaun Watson, who remains sidelined due to injury, as per USA Today.

On the field, Pickett, who won a Super Bowl earlier this year as a backup in Philadelphia, received most of the first-team reps during the minicamp. Gabriel saw time with the starters during red zone drills. Shedeur Sanders has not yet worked with the first-team offense. Flacco received limited snaps by design.

The Browns are expected to carry no more than three quarterbacks on the final roster. Flacco is currently viewed as the presumed starter heading into the 2025 season, though the competition remains open.
