Deion Sanders in, Mike McCarthy out? ESPN analyst links Cowboys with stunning swap involving Dak Prescott & Shedeur Sanders

Could Deion Sanders and his son Shedeur replace Mike McCarthy and Dak Prescott next season in Dallas? ESPN Get Up analyst Mike Greenberg thinks it's a possibility.

With 2024 being a pivotal year for Prescott and McCarthy, both could be out of Dallas in 2025 if the team decides to fire McCarthy and move on from Prescott in free agency.

Mike Greenberg thinks Cowboys owner Jerry Jones could call his former player, Deion Sanders, to replace McCarthy and draft his son Shedeur to replace Prescott.

"You know, who gets paid a lot of money these days, too, college football players. The world has changed. That dynamic has changed a lot since he was at Jackson State, and even in the last year or two, I'm listening to him talking about Jerry Jones. I'm contemplating a world in which his son, Shedeur Sanders is going to be one of the top draft picks, one of the top quarterbacks in the upcoming NFL Draft," Greenberg said via August 15's episode of Get UP.
"I'm envisioning a season in which Jerry Jones seems relatively satisfied to let Mike McCarthy have a one and done situation. To let Dak Prescott have a one and done situation. I'm picturing the ultimate marketer, the ultimate salesman, the ultimate drama, which is Jerry Jones, and I'm picturing him imagining Deion and Shedeur Sanders as his coach and quarterback next year."

Deion Sanders played for Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones for five seasons, from 1995 to 1999. Like much of his career, he was a star in Dallas and helped the team win the Super Bowl in 1995.

As rumors about Sanders joining the Cowboys have started to heat up, Sanders recently spoke highly of the Cowboys' owner, stating that he believes they can win the NFC East this season.

“First of all, you know Jerry is my man. I love Jerry Jones... They have the offense, the defense, the coordinators, the personnel, especially when they get CeeDee back in camp. I think they have everything to win that division,” Sanders said via ESPN Radio.

Deion Sanders and Shedeur will begin season two with the Colorado Buffaloes this fall. Shedeur is expected to be a top draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
