"Delusional as the GM": Cowboys' Micah Parsons takes issue with Giants fans burning Saquon Barkley's jersey in scathing rant
Star Dallas Cowboys defender Micah Parsons called out New York Giants fans over the treatment they've given to Saquon Barkley. The star running back returned to MetLife Stadium after signing with the Eagles in the offseason following a six-year tenure with the New Yorkers.
Some fans burned his jersey upon his return, which didn't sit well with Parsons. During this week's edition of his "The Edge" podcast, the veteran slammed Giants fans, adding that their anger should be directed at someone else.
“Saquon returned back, and he said he saw them burning his jerseys in the parking lot," Parsons said. "What are Giants fans? Are y'all just as delusional as the GM? It is really not Saquon’s fault that he’s not back in New York. Point fingers at the GM. Did y’all not see the video where they said, ‘We’re not sure if we wanna give them the money’?
"The Giants were playing around with this man’s money, not allowing him to feed his family. It’s not his fault. Blame the management. … Wake up and blame the GM."
Saquon Barkley became arguably the best player for the Giants during his stint there. He played 74 games, recording 1,201 carries for 5,211 yards and 47 touchdowns. After failing to agree on a new contract with the team, he tested the waters of free agency and joined their divisional rivals, the Eagles.
The Giants now have Devin Singletary and Tyrone Tracy Jr. as their biggest weapons in the backfield, while the Eagles have maximized Barkley's talents during the first seven weeks of the season.
The return to MetLife was special for Barkley, who went off on his former team in a blowout 28-3 win on Sunday.

On the other end, Tyrone Tracy Jr. carried the ball six times for 23 yards. Daniel Jones had a similar performance, recording five rushing attempts for 20 yards.
