DeSean Jackson sheds doubt on Aaron Rodgers and Robert Saleh: "That relationship is a little shaky"

The New York Jets will face the New York Giants in the final preseason game, and Aaron Rodgers is not expected to play in it. It means that the veteran quarterback's first action on the field after the Achilles injury last year will be against Nick Bosa and the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1 of the regular season.

Some have concerns about Rodgers not playing in the preseason, but former Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson feels there is no harm. In a recent appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Jackson highlighted that Rodgers and Robert Saleh's relationship is 'shaky'.

This comment comes after Coach Saleh pointed out that the four-time NFL MVP's absence from the mandatory minicamp was 'unexcused'. Jackson mentioned that the head coach should have defended the quarterback, and the way he handled the situation was not ideal. He said:

"I think the relationship with the head coach, Saleh, that relationship is a little shaky. Honestly, I just don't really see them really merging together. I know Saleh has a lot of pressure from the owners and the general managers to get their starting quarterback out there playing, but at the end of the day, this is Aaron Rodgers we're talking about here."
"I think the Aaron Rodgers that we've known to see, I think he'll be that this year for that team... Robert, just focus on defense. Let A-Rod focus on offense."

DeSean Jackson is confident that Rodgers will have a great season with the Jets. Although the relationship between the quarterback and the head coach is not perfect, if Saleh allows Rodgers to do his own thing on offense with Nathaniel Hackett, there will be no issues.

If the Jets underperform this season, Saleh could lose his job, so he needs to ensure that the star quarterback is on his side. As a result, he shouldn't throw Rodgers under the bus again, like he did in June.

Aaron Rodgers is a four-time league MVP, a Super Bowl champion, and one of the best quarterbacks to ever play in the NFL. Despite that, many people are undermining Rodgers and don't believe that he can play well this upcoming season.

This is a perfect spot for the New York Jets quarterback to have another MVP-caliber season and silence all his critics as he has done throughout his career. Coming off an Achilles injury is not easy for anyone, but Rodgers doesn't rely on movement outside the pocket, which is why he can make it work quite easily.

The Jets have done their best to build a strong team around their quarterback. It is now up to the 40-year-old superstar to play his best and prove to everyone that he can still play beyond this year.

The Jets' defense is one of the best in the league, and even if Aaron Rodgers plays like he did during his last year in Green Bay, the AFC East franchise will pose a serious threat to the other Super Bowl contenders.
