Did DK Metcalf think Russell Wilson was fake? Seahawks star dished on Kevin Hart’s show
This week, DK Metcalf's game was the highlight at the NBA Celebrity All-Star game in Utah. His athleticism wowed people at the game, who ended up sharing clips of his iconic dunk. Metcalf's journey, of course, began with the Seattle Seahawks in 2019.
Russell Wilson, who is currently with the Denver Broncos, was leading the Seahawks as their star QB when Metcalf was drafted.
While on Kevin Hart's show Cold as Balls, DK Metcalf revealed how Wilson had reached out to him right after his draft. Hart asked Metcalf about Wilson's trust, which Metcalf was ready for.
"Right after I got drafted he called me. [Wilson] was like, 'Let's get to work. I am proud to have you. He just told me like, 'You can be one of the best receivers to ever play the game," Metcalf said.
"Once he told me that, then I was like, 'All right let me go and put the work in. And let me, doing all the little things, just so he knows how serious I am about the game. And how serious I am about my future".
Hart referred to Wilson as a good man, who is apparently too good to be true. Metcalf agreed, sharing the same sentiments as Hart.
"That's him! I thought he was fake too," Metcalf added.
DK Metcalf was in the spotlight for his spectacular dunk at the NBA Celebrity All-Star game
With around 27 seconds left in the third quarter, Metcalf (on Team Dwyane) received a pass from behind the three-point line, reached for the basket and dunked with a force that shook the rim. The venue erupted in cheers as Metcalf played on, easily stealing the show with his dunks and passes.
Milwaukee Bucks icon Giannis Antetokounmpo, who was on the court, looked impressed with Metcalf's score. Finishing with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks, the 25-year-old earned himself MVP honor after the game.
Hart, who is now retired, is also a three-time champion at the NBA Celebrity All-Star game.
