Did Peyton Manning inspire 'Wedding Crashers'? Vince Vaughn spills the beans on infamous scene on 'ManningCast'

NFL fans were treated to another episode of the 'ManningCast', the alternate Monday Night Football broadcast, this week. Actor Vince Vaughn was one of the guests on this week's show. During the broadcast, he talked about the well-known football scene from his movie 'The Wedding Crashers.'

The scene features Vaughn, alongside Owen Wilson, Christopher Walken and Bradley Cooper, playing football in a backyard. Vaughn claimed that Peyton Manning was actually the motivation behind the way the scene played out.

He said, when his character called out random words when he walked up to the line of scrimmage, it was inspired by the way Peyton used to call an audible.

"That was definitely inspired by Peyton," he said. "He would always come up to the line and change the plays and it always looked so complicated. He'd kind of make these decisions and he'd have this terminology, so as a fan I always thought that was cool."

"When we went to shoot the scene that day, I remember saying to the director, 'The more I make it like I really am invested here in what I'm doing, the funnier it's going to be when it goes bad,'" Vaughn continued. 'It was definitely Peyton-inspired to say 'hot route' and '7/11'... We were definitely feeding off of Peyton's skills.'"

Whether Vince Vaughn was actually doing his best Peyton Manning interpretation or not, the backstory of the iconic scene was hilarious in itself.

President Barack Obama makes his 'ManningCast' debut

The 'ManningCast' has become a platform that NFL fans flock to for a more entertaining version of 'Monday Night Football.' It's no secret that some of the primetime games this season have been a bit boring and lack an offensive standout performance.

On Monday night, Chicago Bears fan and former President Barack Obama made his debut on the show. Obama's appearance on the show was first discussed with Peyton Manning in May while the two were golfing together alongside Larry David in California. When the Bears were featured on a Monday Night Football broadcast that the 'ManningCast' would be on, the plans were finalized and kept secret.

Thanks to Peyton and @EliManning for having me on the Manningcast. It’s always good watching the game with a couple other retired guys.

NFl fans were also quick to realize that Obama wore the perfect attire for his appearance on the 'ManningCast' -- a zippered pullover. The look that both Peyton and Eli Manning typically sport each week.

Obama talked about his love for not only the Chicago Bears, but all Chicago sports teams. He also went on to talk about the lull that Chicago sports teams have felt as of late with their lack of success across the board. But the Bears were able to pull off the 33-14 win over the New England Patriots on Monday night.
