“Disinterested in winning” – Shannon Sharpe flames 5 NFL teams who refused to talk Lamar Jackson trade

It isn't every day that top-quality quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson come even close to becoming free agents. However, if any team in the league wants him, they have an expensive path to getting him. That said, there are allegedly five NFL teams that decided they didn't have any interest in the quarterback.

Speaking on Undisputed, Shannon Sharpe slammed the five teams and questioned what their ultimate goal was as a member of the NFL. Here's how he put it:

Will the Baltimore Ravens lose their quarterback?

"Lamar Jackson was not going to see the free agent market without that tag designation. So therefore, he's not free. There are five teams that showed they're disinterested in Lamar Jackson. Those five teams are also disinterested in winning. Carolina, Atlanta. So that's where I'm going with that."

Basically, teams have a shot at getting the quarterback under his designation, but it won't be cheap, costing two first-round picks and likely a massive contract.

Are the Ravens trying to suppress the QB market?

Long-time NFL fans have watched Jackson supplant Joe Flacco and lead the team to several winning seasons and playoff performances. They've also watched contract negotiations move at a snail's pace for multiple seasons. Finally, after years of waiting, the team gave the QB a limited franchise tag.

That doesn't end negotiations, however. Assuming no team bites on the quarterback, the team will be back to square one next offseason. Fans are prepared for at least one team to sell the farm to get their hands on a franchise quarterback overnight.

Of course, no pragmatic moves have been made publicly, but it is a long offseason. Whether it's the Ravens or another team who gets the quarterback will get a player that has earned a positive starting record in every season of his career.

He's also won an MVP and boasts a nearly 3:1 win-loss ratio. Meaning, as long as he stays healthy, the team that gets him next is mathematically guaranteed to reach the playoffs. Who will step forward to make a run at Jackson?
