Elijah Moore trashed ex-Jets OC Mike LaFleur in heated exchange - “Go f—ck yourself”

New York Jets wide receiver Elijah Moore had requested a trade during the course of the season. It was later revealed that Moore got into a verbal altercation with Jets OC Mike LaFleur.

Moore was upset after not being targeted a single time during the Jets' 27-10 win over the Green Bay Packers, and he vented his rage to his offensive coordinator.

According to The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt, Moore said the following to LaFleur during a practice session:

"Go f--k yourself" ;"You suck"- Elijah Moore said to LaFleur.

Later, the issue between the two was resolved as Moore decided to stay in New York with the Jets. The second-year wide receiver had 37 catches for 446 yards and scored one touchdown in 16 games this season.

In comparison, Moore had 43 catches for 538 yards and scored five touchdowns in 11 games in his rookie season. His frustration was evident as he was unable to get more involved in the offense this year, and LaFleur was to blame for it.

The New York Jets parted ways with Mike LaFleur once their season was over, and are now in the market for a new OC. Along with a new offensive coordinator, the Jets need a new quarterback as well.

With everything that went through this season, it is highly unlikely that Zach Wilson will be the Jets' starting quarterback in Week 1 of next season. A new quarterback at the helm could help Elijah Moore as well.

Elijah Moore could be paired with a veteran QB next season

The New York Jets will be in the race to acquire Derek Carr from the Las Vegas Raiders via trade, and might even look to sign Jimmy Garoppolo or Tom Brady via free agency.

It is highly likely that talented receivers like Elijah Moore and Garrett Wilson will be playing alongside a solid veteran quarterback next season.

"I hope Derek Carr ends up with the Jets. ... The Raiders better have a real plan. The plan can't be: Week 1 starting for the Las Vegas Raiders, Jarrett Stidham."

The Jets have one of the best defenses in the league, and had they had a good quarterback this season, they could have easily qualified for the playoffs. Although Mike White tried his best, he might not be the long-term solution for this franchise.

As a result, the likelihood of a new veteran quarterback starting for the Jets next season remains very high.
