Emmanuel Acho calls out Caleb Williams after Bears' loss vs Colts: "I'm not surprised he is struggling"

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams was drafted first overall in the 2024 NFL draft. Fans had high hopes for the Heisman Trophy winner but his transition to the pros has been a struggle so far.

NFL analyst Emmanuel Acho called out Williams and his performance through the first three weeks on Monday's episode of "The Facility." Acho said that everyone believes Williams should be better because he was the top pick.

"Caleb, if you were better coming out of college than every other rookie, then I need you to be better in the NFL than every other rookie," Acho said. "You can't be better than Bo Nix in college, but then get to the NFL and be worse. You can't be better than Jayden Daniels in college, but then get to the NFL and be worse..."
"I am not surprised that Caleb Williams is struggling. I am surprised that Caleb Williams is struggling this much. So yes, rookies should be rookies, but if you were better than all them, then I need you to be better than all them. So Caleb, if you was better than all of the dudes then, why'd he caught you?"

QB Caleb Williams' NFL stats through Week 3

Caleb Williams' strong play in his collegiate career led the Chicago Bears to pick him in a QB-heavy draft class. However, Williams hasn't gotten off to the best start through the first three weeks of his NFL career.

Sunday's loss to the Indianapolis Colts was Williams' best game in the NFL thus far. He completed 33-of-52 passes for 363 yards and two touchdowns but had two interceptions as well. Those were the first two touchdown passes of his pro career, one of which was to fellow rookie Rome Odunze.

So far this season, he has completed 70-of-118 passes for 630 yards. He has four interceptions and has been sacked 13 times. He has also rushed for just 67 yards and has two fumbles.

The Chicago Bears QB was the first rookie to throw a touchdown pass this season which shows that the transition to the NFL has been a bit more difficult for this year's rookie class.
