Emmanuel Acho points at Jerry Jones for Cowboys' struggles: "He let the team down"
The Dallas Cowboys are 1-2 after back-to-back losses in the last two weeks and some are pointing to Jerry Jones as the reason for the downfall.
The longtime team owner signed CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott to lucrative contract extensions recently. But, according to one NFL analyst, he didn't address the other roster issues.
On Wednesday morning, Emmanuel Acho said on The Facility that Jones is to blame for his team's struggles. He elaborated by pointing out the team's issues at several positions and how Jones didn't find the right people for those roles.
“This is the first year in my mind that Jerry Jones has let the team down. Jerry Jones, you knew who had a wide receiver three problem, you didn't solve it. You knew you had a running back problem, you didn't solve it.
"Jerry Jones, you knew you had a defensive tackle problem, you didn't solve it. Jerry Jones, you knew you had a linebacker problem as it pertains to size that could come down the line, you didn't solve it,” Acho said.
The team's struggles come just months after the owner claimed he was 'all in' on doing whatever was necessary to get his team past their lack of success in the playoffs.
Jerry Jones said it's 'fair' to blame him for Cowboys struggles
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made his weekly appearance on 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday. Jones was told that a recent poll by WFAA-TV Dallas revealed that 78% of fans believed he was to blame for the team's struggles. Jones responded by saying that it was 'very fair' for fans to think just that.
"It's well known that no decision is ultimately made here for what I either have acquiesced (to) or approved it. That's very fair. How could you think otherwise, whether it be who's out there coaching, whether it be who's out there playing, whether it be the stadium you're walking into? Whatever it is here, that's the way it is," Jerry Jones said on 105.3 The Fan.
While Jerry Jones acknowledged that he isn't pleased with the way the Dallas Cowboys are currently playing, he added that he is optimistic they will turn things around.
Dallas has a short week to figure it out after a loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday afternoon. Next up for the Cowboys is an NFC East divisional matchup against the New York Giants on the road Thursday night.
