"Entitlement is crazy": NFL fans take shots at Patrick Mahomes Sr following viral cam recording from DWI arrest before SB 2024
Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes' father had a pleading conversation with the police official during a DWI arrest in February. Patrick Mahomes Sr. was arrested on Feb. 3, eight days before the quarterback's Super Bowl game against the San Francisco 49ers.
On Friday, TMZ released a cam recording of the arrest. Mahomes was trying to talk his way out of the arrest while stressing over his son's Super Bowl game. The clip has been going viral across the internet, with fans criticizing Mahomes for using his son's reference during his arrest.
"This clown is blaming the cop for him getting in trouble for deciding to drink and drive (again)," a fan said.
"The entitlement is crazy," another fan commented.
"Should’ve thought about his son before driving," one said.
Many fans were unhappy with Patrick Mahomes Sr. Talking shots at the ex-MLB star, one fan commented:
"Sad, but that should’ve been his first thought before he drove off, that calling someone to go get him."
"Patrick Mahomes Sr. found himself in a tough situation, trying to use his son's name to avoid a DWI stop," another fan said.
"Maybe HE, as an adult should of thought about not driving drunk for his sons sake," a fan said.

According to DailyMail, Patrick Mahomes Sr. was pulled over by a police official in Las Vegas, who saw him driving too slow around the 1100 block of W. Gentry. After running through his registration, the cops found out it expired in Sept. 2022.
Moreover, when the cops approached, the ex-MLB star had an open can of beer inside his car, leading to his arrest. In the cam recording released by TMZ from the arrest, Mahomes can be heard saying:
"Are y'all serious? I'm supposed to be going to the Super Bowl to watch my son play football, and this is what we're doing? Can I say one thing? My son is getting ready to play in the f***ing Super Bowl, OK? Just listen to me. I am not drunk. I promise you. I've had some drinks. But he can't have this right now. Listen, this can't happen."
"Dude. This is crazy. My son is getting ready to play in the f***ing Super Bowl, and I'm doing interviews -- five or six a day. And then, now, this s***'s going to be on the news, which is going to f*** with him, and it's probably going to f*** him up. And he probably won't win the Super Bowl. But that's fine. If that's what y'all want to do, that's good," he further said.
After his arrest, Patrick Mahomes Sr. was sent to Smith County Jail, from where he was released on a $10,000 bond. After going through multiple court hearings, the DWI case was closed with a sentence of 5-year probation.
