ESPN host Holly Rowe takes shots at "old people" who oppose Taylor Swift's NFL coverage

The major highlight of the 2023 NFL season was undoubtedly Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's relationship. While Swift received appreciation from NFL fans, the league criticized her excessive coverage.

Many NFL fans, including Matthew Stafford's wife, Kelly, were upset by her frequent on-screen appearances during games. On Monday, ESPN host Holly Rowe shared her take during an interview with US Weekly. Rowe had this to say about those who oppose the singer's NFL presence:

"It brought a lot of new fans to the sport. Merchandise sales went up, ratings went up. New fans are good for the sport and good for the game. Grumpy, old people who are like, ‘I can’t take a 10 second shot of her.’ Come on. I am a football person first.
"I learned about Taylor Swift by watching the NFL and NFL coverage. I was like, ‘Oh, I didn’t know this thing about her.’ I’m the football person who learns about Taylor Swift through football coverage. I thought it was great," the ESPN host further added."

According to a report, Swift's appearances helped NFL franchises make over $4 million per night. Apart from the financial benefits, Rowe expressed how the Blank Space singer has brought more female fans to the sport.

"She brought a lot of friends and family to those football games that maybe wouldn’t have come before. As a football person I’m like, ‘The more, the merrier.’ Keep bringing ‘em because we want to get as many women loving and involved in football as possible," Rowe said.

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's relationship has most benefited the Kansas City Chiefs. In an interview, Chiefs owner Clark Hunt revealed how the singer helped the franchise gain 30% growth in fanbase over the year.

Earlier this month, Bloomberg interviewed Kansas City Chiefs' owner Clark Hunt. During the interview, Hunt shed light on how Swift has helped the team attain 30% growth in its fanbase. Giving credit to the Willow singer, Hunt said:

"The impact Taylor Swift has had on our fanbase is undeniable," Hunt said. "We’ve seen a 30% increase in our fanbase, and it’s clear that her presence and influence are a big part of that. Her fans are incredibly loyal, and they’ve brought that energy to supporting the Chiefs."

Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift's relationship has been public for over a year. People close to the tight end feel the couple will marry soon. With the NFL regular season almost around the corner, the Chiefs tight end announced 'Kelce Car Jam' a week after sending $30,000 worth of red roses to Taylor Swift.
