"No loyalty": Ex-Cowboys All-Pro takes strong stance on viral Matthew Stafford trade rumor

Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant reacted to the viral rumor about Matthew Stafford being on the Minnesota Vikings' radar amid a 5-1 NFL season. After losing JJ McCarthy to a season-ending injury and giving the keys to the car to Sam Darnold, Minnesota has played at a high level.

X user @jacksettleman posted on Tuesday that the Vikings and Rams are in 'serious trade talks' for Stafford, who was the subject of a trade push from Minnesota in the offseason.

Bryant wasn't having any of that and took to social media to criticize that notion, calling out the Vikings for seemingly having no loyalty for the quarterback.

"Vikings are giving up on Sam Darnold is wild … the guy is playing at an MVP level right now … Vikings literally lost to the best team in the NFC and ready to make changes? No loyalty lol," Bryant posted.

Real or not, the LA Rams have been linked with trade rumors in recent hours. Before Matthew Stafford was mentioned as a potential trade chip for the Super Bowl LVI champions, Cooper Kupp's name was brought up in a potential trade to the Buccaneers. This was after the NFC South team lost both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin.

The Rams are 2-4 in the season and if they can't bounce back soon, their campaign will be all but over. Stafford has thrown 132 pass attempts for 1,392 yards, three passing touchdowns and four interceptions.

Dez Bryant wanted Dallas Cowboys to reunite with star WR

Before sharing his thoughts on the Stafford trade rumors, Dez Bryant made his wishes clear about seeing the Cowboys reuniting with a former star. After getting dismantled 47-9 by the Detroit Lions, Bryant said he'd like Dallas to bring back Amari Cooper.

"I pray Dallas Cowboys get Amari Cooper back," he posted on Oct. 13.

Cooper, instead, was traded to AFC East contenders Buffalo Bills from the Cleveland Browns. He made an instant impact for Buffalo with four receptions for 66 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown.

The Cowboys are 3-3 after the humbling loss to the Lions and will be back from the bye week against the San Francisco 49ers in primetime.

Dez Bryant and the rest of Cowboys fans will have to wait to see if the team makes some moves to bolster its ranks.
