Ex-NFL QB Tim Tebow lands major role in Biblical film 'David'

Tim Tebow has done many things in the course of his illustrious career, from being a college football star to a baseball player. The former NFL quarterback can now add the role of executive producer to his resume. Tebow will executive produce the Biblical film titled 'David', which is based on the legendary figure of the same name.

The production house, Angel Studios, and the former Heisman Trophy winner announced this week that 'David' set the record for audience investment in a film production. Almost $50 million has been invested already while the objective is $61 million.

During the live-streamed announcement of the movie, Tim Tebow said the following:

“So, I heard a rumor that we are the number one crowd-funded movie of all time. That’s crazy! That is so awesome. I’m so grateful to be a part of it.”

Moreover, the former University of Florida star was excited about the possible reach this animated film could have and what it could mean for all those individuals.

“I am just so grateful [that] so many people are coming together to tell the story of David, that I think will bring faith, hope, and love to so many people. And ultimately, that’s the goal.”

Tebow's attachment to the project comes as no surprise, as he's spoken about his faith on countless occasions. 'David' currently has an expected release date in the year of 2025.
