Super Bowl-winning Ravens WR gives 3-word warning after Donald Trump threatens to defund schools

Former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith had a three-word reaction to Donald Trump's announcement regarding public school. The Republican party presidential nominee joined the "Fox & Friends" show to discuss a series of topics. A clip shared on Friday shows the former president saying that he will close the Department of Education and even offered one of the hosts that responsibility.

Then, co-host Brian Kilmeade said that he was bothered by the possibility of a "liberal city" teaching kids that America was "built off the backs of slaves on stolen land, and that curriculum comes in." Trump had a clear response, stating that they would stop giving money to the schools that have that type of curriculum.

“Then we don’t send them money,” replied Trump. "We would save half of our budget."

Torrey Smith showed his concern about this potential situation with a three-word message on X, formerly known as Twitter:

"This is disturbing," he tweeted Friday night.

The 2024 presidential election is approaching and several people, including former and current NFL players, want to voice their opinions on the topic. This isn't the first time Torrey Smith has said something about Trump or his supporters and with the election so close, it likely won't be the last.

Torrey Smith engaged in a back-and-forth with Donald Trump supporter

Back in July, Torrey Smith engaged with Donald Trump supporters on X, saying that "the bar is the floor" for the people who supported the former president. Kimberly Klacik, a Republican politician running for office in Maryland, replied to the two-time Super Bowl champion that she'd like to debate him.

He wasn't entertaining that proposal and said that instead, Trump should debate Democratic party candidate Kamala Harris.

"I’m not a failed politician so I’m not interested in debating you. Get your man to debate the VP."

The exchange between these two continued, with Klacik claiming Smith wasn't a failed politician but a failed football player.

Torrey Smith responded by listing his achievements, including his Super Bowl wins while telling Klacik that if interested, he could beat her in politics.

"You are delusional to real life. You also don’t like facts... Average NFL career 3.3 years - I played 8 and could’ve kept going... Small percentage of players win a Super Bowl…I have 2... Also, If I wanted to in to politics, I would beat you."

Torrey Smith has been actively speaking out against Donald Trump and he might continue if the former president shows up at the Steelers versus Jets game on Sunday.
