Ex-Steelers WR Antonio Brown has no regrets over his infamous NFL career exit - "Glad I walked out for my health"
Antonio Brown is one of the most controversial figures in the NFL world. The former NFL wide receiver infamously took off his jersey and shoulder pads and walked off the MetLife Stadium, during a Week 17 clash against the New York Jets, in January 2022.
Brown appeared on "The Pivot" podcast hosted by Ryan Clark, Channing Crowder and Fred Taylor on Tuesday. The former Steelers wide receiver opened up about his exit from the NFL. He said that he has no regrets over how his career ended.
"I walked off, I did the right things for myself, Brown said. ... "Every good thing gonna come to an end. And I don't have no regrets of how it ended."
Brown mentioned that football players are exposed to more trauma and he is glad he prioritized his health over his NFL career. Brown added that he accomplished all the goals he set out for himself.
"I [am] just glad I walked out for my health. The whole thing of being a football player is not limp off the field when you're done. To be able to walk off with with full strength, and that's always been my goal. Get the most out of the game. You know, I put a lot of energy, effort, time in the game and I don't feel like I took any shortcuts. I had a goal a vision and I did it."
Brown was once a lethal weapon on the offense for the Pittsburgh Steelers. The seven-time Pro Bowl wide reciver put up one of the greatest six-year stretches in the NFL history, from 2013 through 2018, recording 1000+ yards every single year.

Antonio Brown's NFL career took a completely different turn after his Steelers' exit. He was traded to the Oakland Raiders in 2019. Brown's stint with the Raiders didn't last long.
Filled with training camp hold out, protest against NFL's helmet policy and missing practices, Brown was released in September 2019 with $215,073.53 in fines.
He signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots after Raiders release. Brown then signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020 on a one-year deal and won his first Super Bowl. He returned the following year, only to eventually walk off the field during Week 17 game.
In his 12-year NFL career, Brown recorded 12,291 receiving yards and 83 touchdowns in 928 receptions, averaging 13.2 yards per catch. The former Buccaneers WR recently filed for bankruptcy with $3,000,000 in the red.
