EXCLUSIVE: Britain Covey reveals how Nick Saban's Alabama influence has impacted EaglesĀ

The Philadelphia Eagles are the only team in the NFL who are undefeated through six weeks, boasting a perfect 6-0 record. This hot start is Philly's best in franchise history and they're one of the most dominant teams in football right now.

Special teams returner Britain Covey spoke in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda and spoke about the team's success. He discussed what it's like to be surrounded by leaders in the Eagles locker room. He credited Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban as an inspiration. Here's what he said:

"Being in a locker room full of guys who are used to winning throughout their career is something that I love. I feel like most guys in the NFL have won throughout their career. But there are certain organizations or people who come from certain teams, even in college where winning wasn't as necessarily common as it is for someone like Jalen [Hurts] or Smitty [Devonta Smith] who played in Alabama and then Oklahoma."

He continued:

"Guys that are just, the standard to them is winning. They're so used to it, they can't stand to lose. That's the kind of environment that I love and that I feel like I thrive in and I love to be around because when your leaders are like that it just drives the whole locker room to be like that."

Covey elaborated further:

"No one's okay with losing and it it's just, it makes for a great work environment honestly. So I think that's the biggest thing for me is just being around leaders who are not used to losing and hate it when they do."

Britain Covey hopes the Eagles can reach further heights through more consistent performances

While the Eagles have had their fair share of success, they have pumped the brakes in some quarters this season. They let teams such as the Arizona Cardinals and Detroit Lions get to within a field goal and went down 14-0 to the Jacksonville Jaguars as well.

Covey thinks that in order for them to reach their maximum potential, they'll have to play well for all four quarters of every game:

"I think success for us is to continue to build until we're putting together four full quarters. You know, because we've had games we've played three great quarters, two great quarters, sometimes one great quarter, so hopefully towards the end of the season we're starting to put more four quarter games together."

The Eagles have earned their bye in Week 7. They will return in Week 8 to face their state rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers. In a battle for Pennsylvania, they will look to build off their successful start.
